PRIZE MONEY DETAILS & FINE PRINT
FINE PRINT THE ONE NATIONALS PRIZES
- All prizes, stipends, scholarships, or other benefits may be considered taxable income under U.S. law.
- Winners are solely responsible for any and all federal, state, or local taxes associated with their prize(s).
- Foreign participants may be required to complete applicable IRS forms (such as Form W-8BEN) prior to receiving any prize or stipend.
- Under U.S. tax regulations and certain international tax treaties, DanceOne may be required to withhold and remit U.S. taxes from payments made to foreign participants — even if the participant provides a completed W-8 form.
- DanceOne will issue required tax forms (such as Form 1042-S for foreign recipients or Form 1099-MISC for U.S. recipients) in accordance with U.S. law.
- Any monetary stipends or prize payments will be distributed by December 31, 2026, unless otherwise stated in writing.
- DanceOne reserves the right to revoke participation, awards, or future invitations if a dancer, parent, or studio engages in unprofessional, disruptive, or unsafe conduct.
- Participation in all DanceOne events is voluntary and at the participant’s own risk.
- DanceOne, its affiliates, sponsors, and staff are not liable for any personal injury, property damage, loss, or other claims arising from participation, travel, or attendance at any event.
- DanceOne reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel any rule, award, or opportunity at any time without notice, in its sole discretion.
- All decisions of the DanceOne Producers and Directors are final and binding.
THE ONE NATIONALS BALLROOM COMPETITION PRIZE RULES
Cash prize money in the Open, Senior, and Teen age divisions will only be awarded when a minimum of ten (10) couples are registered in a category. Example – Prize money awarded: If a category has ten (10) or more registered couples, prize money will be awarded.Example – Prize money not awarded: If a category has nine (9) or fewer registered couples, prize money will not be awarded.
THE BEST OF THE ONE STUDIO AWARD
The maximum total studio prize money that may be awarded to a studio is $10,000. The studio receiving THE BEST of THE ONE Studio Award will be awarded the full $10,000. This award supersedes any other studio-based prize money earned during the event; smaller studio prize amounts earned throughout the event will be forfeited in exchange for the grand prize. Example: “ABC Dance Studio” earns $6,500 in studio prize money from other awards. If named THE BEST of THE ONE Studio Award winner, the studio forfeits the $6,500 and receives $10,000 instead. Individual cash awards (Free Style Battles, Dancer Experiences, ONE of ONE, Ballroom Competition, etc.) are not included in this limit and will still be awarded.
THE ONE STUDIO AWARD
The 2026 THE ONE Studio Award winner will receive $25,000. This award supersedes any other studio prize money from THE ONE Nationals, and any smaller studio prize amounts earned during the week will be forfeited in exchange for the $25,000 grand prize. For Example: “ABC Dance Studio” wins $6,500 from other studio awards. If they win THE ONE Studio Award, the $6,500 is forfeited and they receive $25,000 instead.
Individual cash awards (Free Style Battles, Dancer Experiences, ONE of ONE, Ballroom Competition, etc.) are not included in this limit and will still be awarded.
COMBINED STUDIO AWARD LIMIT
The maximum total studio prize money a studio can earn at THE ONE Nationals is $25,000.If the same studio wins both THE BEST of THE ONE Grand Prize and THE ONE Studio Award, the studio will receive only $25,000, which represents the total combined studio award amount.
Smaller studio prize amounts earned during the week will be forfeited in exchange for this grand prize. For Example: “ABC Dance Studio” earns $10,000 from THE BEST of THE ONE Studio Award, $25,000 from THE ONE Studio Award, plus $6,500 from other studio prizes. The studio forfeits all smaller prizes and receives a total of $25,000, the maximum allowable studio prize. Individual cash awards (Free Style Battles, Dancer Experiences, ONE of ONE, Ballroom Competition, etc.) are not included in this limit and will still be awarded.
